WinField United Canada is thrilled to announce the return of Journey 5km in 2025, continuing its commitment to raising awareness for mental health in the agriculture industry. Over the past four years, this initiative has brought together people and communities to support The Do More Agriculture Foundation, raising over $70,000.
Since its inception in 2021, Journey 5km has garnered significant participation, with over 2,200 individuals collectively completing over 20,000 km. This virtual walk/run/wheel challenge event, slated to take place between April 21-27, 2025, provides a platform for open discussions about mental health while promoting physical activity and fostering community engagement.
Agriculture is a demanding field, and WinField United recognizes the importance of addressing mental health challenges within the industry. Journey 5km aims to connect people and teams nationwide, encouraging proactive approaches to health and wellness, and supporting The Do More Agriculture Foundation's mission to empower individuals in the agriculture sector to prioritize their mental well-being.
"The Do More Agriculture Foundation is proud to collaborate with WinField United Canada in this event," says Merle Massie, Executive Director at The Do More Agriculture Foundation. "Companies such as WinField which openly create space and energy for conversation and action about mental health are leading change across the industry, combatting stigma with an open message of hope and welcome."
"We are excited to bring back Journey 5km for its fourth consecutive year," shared Greg McDonald, President & General Manager at WinField United Canada. "This event not only promotes physical activity but also serves as a platform to raise awareness and support for mental health initiatives in agriculture. Together, we can break down barriers and foster a culture of openness and support."
To kick off the Journey 5km preparation, WinField United Canada and The Do More Agriculture Foundation will host a Mental Health Webinar at 10 am CST on March 31, 2025. This webinar aims to provide valuable insights and resources on mental health in agriculture, preparing participants for the upcoming challenge. Visit the event page to register for this webinar.
